Welcome to the Midsummer’s Eve Giveaway Hop!
A Rush of Green is one of 200+ blogs participating in the Midsummer’s Eve Giveaway Hop! Each blog is offering a book-related giveaway and we have all joined together so you can easily hop from one giveaway to another and win plenty of book goodies.
THE PRIZE: A Rush of Green will be giving away copies of sci-fi thriller, The Human Race, to three lucky winners.
Ever had a secret so big that your very knowledge of it consumed you? Uma Jakobsdóttir has one. A huge one. And if it falls into the wrong hands, it could obliterate mankind.
Unfortunately, two men have discovered it.
Ethan Rae, Britain’s richest man, is counting on Uma’s secret to finally seal his position as the greatest deal maker of all time.
Across the Atlantic, Samuel Reynolds III, playboy CEO of Reynolds Air, is battling to keep alive the airline his Granddad built. Once the largest company in America, it’s now facing bankruptcy as the fallout from 911 cripples the airline industry. He desperately needs Uma’s secret to ensure its survival.
From the leafy suburbs of London to the frozen wasteland of Iceland, in the shadow of Ground Zero and the barren dryness of the Mojave Desert, both men will stop at nothing to get what they want.
There can only be one winner and the fate of the human race hangs in the balance as they battle it out.
The race is on…

Thanks for the giveaway!
I so far agree with your points, and the world with certainly profit from the people who would have more experience, and there would also be more time for people to complete who knows what great (or bad) things.

there dosen,t seem to be too much long living today , as people seem to die very young but i would like to think that most people will have a long life
following you
Having looked at your comments I agree.

I completely agree!!
Thanks for the giveaway.
No

I agree. Living longer has many repercussions. The age one becomes a pensioner has increased to 66 now in England due to people living longer.
Thanks for the giveaway!

I definitely disagree with you. Life expectancy in some countries is so low there are few elderly people. A huge loss of knowledge, ways of doing things etc.

Yes, increased life expectancy is only wonderful if the quality of life is there.

Definately agree
I think I agree, quality of life over quantity?
yeah i agree with you
I guess it depends on quality of years rather than quantity. I’d rather live to 85 still living at home, able to move about & socialise rather than live to over 100 in a near-vegetative state in a nursing home! But then ask me again when I’m 85 & I’m sure I’d want to carry on!
Hi Laura – I’m with you on that one. My Grandpa just passed away. He was 101. Until 99 he was all there. Very active. Very switched on. And then it all went. The last couple of years were very tough for him. Having said that his other 99 were very active. He once got stopped speeding on the Leeds Ring Road doing 85 at 96!

I agree with you totally
I think it depends on how you look at it. A longer lifespan would be great for someone relatively healthy, but awful for someone that has the genetic predesposition for long term, life altering diseases. Not to mention an increased life span would wreck havoc on the planet due to an even further increase in overpopulation.
I’m really interested in reading your book. Thanks for hosting the contest!

I AGREE
Quantity without quality is worthless. Getting older is no fun if you don’t have a good quality of life!
I agree, although no-one actually knows
Yes I agree with you! following @noconawolsk
I would only want a long life if I was happy and healthy.

It depends the kind of life you have! my grandma has 78 years old and she can still run! I swear I’ve seen her! lol!

I disagree
Well I disagree
Same old same old, I think eastender stories will defitely get tiring after 100 years
So age isn’t all that for me!

I agree, unless that longer life could be accompanied by good health
I agree most definately!
There are many arguments for and against but having read your blog I tend to agree!!!
I agree with you as quality of life is more important than length
An increased life expectancy isn’t all that, unless the quality of life is there.
Best wishes and thanks for a chance to win this fantabulous giveaway!
I totally agree with you. An increased life expectancy isn’t all that.
Thanks for the giveaway!

my nan was a 100 years young, when she passed over, active to the end
is it a good thing to live longer?, open question, if in health mind and body, yes, but there is a lot in favour of your point of veiw
GFC follower.
I’d love to win this one.
I agree
Come on O.C. If you do live to be 150 you’ll need to catch up with technology. Why would you clutter up libraries with your books when everyone will soon be reading electronically? You’d be cluttering up bandwidth instead
I think it will be perfectly possible to live to 150 but just imagine the traffic jams, the housing situation and the queues for anything offering OAP discounts! Still, it would mean there would be plenty more opportunities to put things off until tomorrow, or the day after, or the 100 years after that. Nothing would ever get done!
by the way, following you on twitter @susanwillshee
The way the rise in pension age is going theres absolutely no point in living longer since you will only have to work for a much longer time and not be able to retire and enjoy your mature years!
I agree as you need to be in good health and have a good quality of life to be able to enjoy and benefit from living longer
One of my recent blog posts looks at increased life expectancy. I argued that an increase in our life expectancy “isn’t all that”. Do you agree or disagree? I agree.
I agree but it definately depends on the quality. If you are still healthy then live long and prosper but if you don’t have a good quality then yeah it’s not all a good thing.
I suppose I agree but I’d like to live a long life as long as I remain healthy and mentally alert and active.
